It offers good value if you need a stop‑over near Howick. It’s nice to feel like you’re in the countryside, on a smallholding with sheep, chickens and guinea fowl right next to the N3, once you get used to the background traffic noise, which isn’t intrusive. The bed and the room were very comfortable. Even though it was 34 °C outside, the room stayed remarkably cool until well after lunch, and I noticed plenty of extra bedding for cold winter nights. The kitchen area could use a few more items—like a cutting board, a tea towel, and maybe a mini‑chef for guests staying longer than overnight—just a suggestion.
