We’re back for the fourth time at the White Lion and already planning a return next year. The whole team is upbeat and eager to help. Our room was bright, the bed and sheets were very comfortable, and the spacious, contemporary bathroom was a treat—especially the shower. Breakfasts were fantastic and the one dinner we had was just as good. The location is unbeatable, right in town’s center and perfect for walking around.

We stayed in a room at the back of the hotel, in the old courtyard, which worked out well for us because we had a dog. Parking the car was easy and we could head out with the dog early in the morning without hassle. The room itself was pleasantly larger than we’d imagined and spotlessly clean. Courtyard parking can feel a bit tight, but it was fine when we were there. Everyone on the staff was friendly and professional. The Sunday roast was superb, and breakfast the next day was top notch. Thanks for a wonderful stay in such a beautiful part of the country. Nothing to complain about!

The location is great, rooms are very comfortable and spacious, the restaurant is fantastic with a varied menu and tasty food. I liked everything and will come back.

Terrific Hotel, very central and staff couldn't do more to make you happy. The room was lovely and big - plenty of space and very clean. The breakfast was by far the best we had on our road trip of Yorkshire. Completely recommend this place - don't hesitate to book it!. The weather!
