The facilities are top‑class, the place is peaceful and tranquil. The price of dinner was high relative to the quality and quantity of the food, a bit sad for the place.

“Marvellous holiday, though we had one wet day in Banos.”

The food was excellent, the best I’ve had in Ecuador. The building is magnificent, full of birds, with good views and a lovely garden where I saw a few hummingbirds. We rented a car and the roads give wonderful views. My wife liked the indoor pool; I liked the fireplace in my room. Nothing else.

Breakfast was very good, the wet areas always at a good temperature. It’s a very pretty and quiet place to rest.

The staff were very friendly, supportive, sometimes English‑speaking. At our request the fireplace in the room was lit (which was always necessary). Urig, many antiques, the whole house is heated by fireplaces. For this season it is a bit remote, few activities nearby. The pool is a bit old‑fashioned, the shower ceilings are heavily moldy (rooms are fine). On nice weather there’s no way to sit outside.
