The location and character were good, but the room was small.

The location was fabulous and the hotel was motor‑bike friendly. We stayed on the upper floor; everything was neat, clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel was within walking distance of Tenterfield’s main street for dinner and breakfast. We also appreciated the two homemade Anzac biscuits we received at check‑in. Nothing was wrong.

The Royal is a beautiful heritage building full of history. The rooms are comfortable and have been recently and very tastefully renovated. We ate a couple of meals at the bistro, and the menu was delicious. The staff were warm and welcoming. No complaints.

We received a very friendly and warm welcome at a well‑renovated old hotel. The location was great, the value for money was solid, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to spend time in Tenterfield. Nothing was lacking – it exceeded our expectations.
