“Stunning Hotel in Perfect Location”

The spot was great, the hotel itself had a stunning vibe with plenty of character and charm, plus a games room and a lovely terrace overlooking the Dales opposite. The food was excellent and the bar offered beautiful views. Our room was gorgeous, featuring a large copper bath in the bedroom, and it was very comfortable and clean. The only downside was the price, which was very high, but everything else was top‑class.

“this Hotel is a total Rip-off, it exists to make as much money as it can with no regard to guests.”

The breakfast was poor; when I asked for B‑Beans, the very terse reply was that there were no beans served in this hotel. We dined in the hotel for all meals on Friday 18th Sept, 6.30am 19th; my wife was violently sick with diarrhoea, paramedics were called, and she was taken to Lancaster Hospital with food poisoning suspected by the paramedics. The hotel was informed, but they gave a very caustic reply and showed no sympathy. My wife was kept in hospital with liver failure. My meal on Friday night was a burnt offering; I complained, and from the kitchen came back that it was pan‑fried, but it was not pan‑fried—it was burnt to a cinder, impossible to cut with a table knife.

“Fantastic”

Absolutely beautiful. The hotel is beautiful, the owner is friendly and very welcoming. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a luxury stay.

The location and character of the building and rooms were great. However, there was no shaving point, shaving mirror, or hairdryer in the bathroom.

“Außergewöhnlich, ruhig , Zeit zum Entspannen”

Ein altes außergewöhnliches Herrenhaus in einer wunderschönen Landschaft, man fühlt sich wie eine Prinzessin. Wir konnten leider einen Tag nicht Abendessen, weil es keinen Koch gab, und auch beim Frühstücken war einiges von der Karte nicht erhältlich während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts.
