Location was great. Cleanliness left much to be desired. The property felt dated, old furniture and rather sad, uninspiring decor. The bedding was of poor quality, and the pillows were among the most uncomfortable I’ve ever had the displeasure of sleeping on. That said, the property has a lot of potential. With proper care, updating, and attention to detail, it could be transformed into a much more comfortable and inviting place to stay

We stayed in a “villa,” which was actually just the downstairs of a condo‑type building, but it was very nice and we didn’t hear the neighbors. All the “villa” units face the bay/beach, so it was pleasant to sit and look at or listen to the ocean sounds (though there was no screen on the sliding glass door). The unit was very large, with a large living‑room and kitchen and a separate bedroom. The kitchen was well equipped, though we didn’t cook much. The bed was large and comfortable. Breakfast was a basket you pick up the night before or after 9 am; it had plenty of food, but it wasn’t very appetizing, with only an apple for fruit, a small oats/nuts mix, and a bran muffin. We picked up pastries at the bakery down the street the second morning.

The waterfront location is beautiful and convenient for ferries and the bakery. The gardens are nice, though the room entrances are rough. We had a number of repairs to be done on check‑in (screen door off, screen on fireplace broken, toilet seat broken), but all of these were repaired kindly and efficiently. The whirlpool tub (outdoor!) was fun, though not huge. The continental breakfast supplied was horrible! The muffin would do better as a fishing weight (no flavour but molasses and sooo heavy), the granola was stale—I wouldn’t feed it to my horse, even the berry sauce tasted like a cleaning agent. After tasting we returned all of it. Fortunately there is a wonderful bakery just a 5 minute walk.

The location and staff were good, but the dining room was way overpriced and the servers were duds.
