The host went out of his way to help, even providing a fruit basket and two vases of cut flowers – something I’d never seen before! The construction matched the photos and we were impressed. Fresh rolls hung by the door each morning, and we never needed the air‑conditioning. The place feels remote, but we’d rather walk the last 100 metres to the village than drive, and it’s the only house in the area.

“Relaxante, confortável, muita Natureza, perfeito!”

The people are very friendly, the house feels like a village and grandparents’ home, and the surrounding nature is breathtaking. Breakfast is generous and delicious, and the host is kind and attentive. The pet fee is high compared to other accommodations; the dog paid almost as much as a person would.

Mr. Armando is an excellent host: friendly, always ready to help, and he kept the kitchen stocked with basic breakfast items and other meals. That’s definitely why we enjoyed our stay. The location is quite central to the Serra da Freita points of interest, and the village is welcoming with residents as pleasant as Mr. Armando. The mattress is very soft, which may not suit everyone, but it doesn’t stop a good night’s sleep.

The village is very typical, the access isn’t easy but it’s worth it. The host was super helpful and attentive. A trail that’s very nice but demanding starts right at the doorstep.

“Unique little house in the beautiful Portuguese mountains”

Mr. Armando was warm and attentive to our requests, including breakfast. Everything was very clean and well‑kept, even a bouquet of real flowers on the table. The house is spacious, with authentic traditional architecture and beautiful mountain views. It’s next to nature trails and close to the town of Arouca. Everything was perfect.
