Hotel Hochseeinsel sits on Helgoland’s rugged North Sea island, just 800 m from the jetty and a short ferry ride to Helgoland Düne and the mainland. Modern rooms feature flat‑screen satellite TVs, minibars, private bathrooms with hairdryers, and optional sea‑view balconies. Guests enjoy a communal terrace, daily buffet breakfast, and a beach only 30 m away, plus nearby hiking, swimming, and fishing.

Breakfast offered plenty of options. The balcony view looked over the harbour. We stayed on the first floor, so stairs were the only way up, making it hard to lift luggage. The beds were not very comfortable, with grey sheets and grey towels (maybe a German thing). The shower was weak, and the body wash provided was tiny.

It was easy to reach, and everything important was explained to us right at check‑in. The breakfast is superb!
