The hotel isn’t bad; the rooms are clean and simple and the quality matches the price. But the staff and owners are absolutely awful!!!!! They are rude and dishonest!!! Half an hour after my arrival, the owner started pounding on the door and yelling that I had to leave immediately or he would call the police. He accused me of not being alone in the room. The police never showed up. I was kicked out without a refund. So, dear owners: I am filing a police report for defamation, unlawful conduct, and racism – because you knew I was Ukrainian and deliberately displayed your prejudice against Ukrainians!!!! We’ll see each other in court!!!!

“Trotz einige Abstriche ein toller Urlaub”

Everything is central and reachable within minutes by bus and tram, and you can also walk to the city centre or main station. The price‑performance is good. You can book a breakfast option for a little money and it is very generous. A free shopping line to 600 Globus/Bauhaus, reachable by bus to Jeschken (the mountain) and it goes almost to the summit. Good bus and team network from and to Germany (Zittau) with hourly connections via the Länderbahn L7 in the IDOL tariff for a few CHF. The building is old and not very German‑speaking. You hear every step, the walls are thin and not sound‑proof. The doors are light‑permeable (frames) and need to be firmly closed. Some mattresses are sagging and the luggage compartments sometimes cannot be opened. There is no German programme on TV (which was less disturbing for me since I was out a lot, but it would have been nice). In the relatively small room there is a large double bed and a single bed.

The bartender was pleasant and helpful. The location is good. The room was fairly clean. During my one‑night stay, I ran into quite a few problems: I only received a small towel, the larger one was missing. In the “restaurant” they only have snacks for beer, nothing substantial to eat (frozen pizza saved the day a bit). The bathtub in room 4 is under a slanted ceiling and you have to bend a lot when washing, you can’t get it clean properly. I was promised tea and coffee in the room, but I found no utensils. The street light bothered me while sleeping. I needed to leave before seven, and the host assured me I had to return the keys and then I could leave normally. I got to the courtyard, closed the gate behind me, but then I discovered that the gate at the corner was locked and I couldn’t get out, so I was trapped in the courtyard, keyless and helpless. Luckily, there were people nearby who didn’t mind that I had crossed the fence and let me out through them.
