Candlewood Suites Waco by IHG

“Excellent!”

The room was comfortable and clean.

The location was fine, but the room smelled like wet dog and cleaning chemicals, so I had to use a LOT of perfume to cover it.

“Not coming back very disappointing.”

Nothing positive. A homeless woman was drinking coffee in the lobby, the front desk didn’t want to meet the guests’ needs, and the carpet smelled like Mexican food.

“I guess you pay for what you get but I had always thought Candlewood suites were nice that was not the case here”

The exterior looked clean and like a good property, but the room had a musty odor, dirty linens, lukewarm water with no pressure, and the towels had hair on them.

“Slept in a nice cool room with a comfy bed, once we got past the smelly aspect.”

The place was a decent spot to sleep, with a clean bed and AC that worked. The room offered a coffee maker, fridge, microwave, and other useful amenities. Parking felt safe and well lit. The bathroom and kitchen area were clean. However, the hotel had an unpleasant odor that might have been from dirty carpet, mold, or mildew, and it lingered in both the hallway and the room. I found what looked like dead gnats under the covers and a few dead bugs on top of the comforter, though they didn’t seem to be bed bugs or roaches. I also had to get my key cards replaced twice because one set didn’t work the first time and the second set stopped working midway through our stay.
