The room and location were fine, but in room 21 at 6 am the people above were noisy walking around, probably because there's no insulation between floors.
“Disappointing”
We ate at the Cuckoo Brow several years ago and had an amazing meal, however this time the menu was dull and very limited. We were looking forward to staying for 3 nights and eating at the restaurant. We brought our dog with us and asked to pay £45 and then told a story about dogs being able to stay for free after mentioning they will be staying in the car!! The Cumberland breakfast sausages were not locally sourced, and the whole breakfast had not been cooked to order, but re heated. The breakfast tea were cheap tea bags, the ones in the room were a lot better and I noticed other people had brought them down to breakfast as I did the second day. We were very disappointed in our room with views of the bins. Such a shame as a great location for walking, but we will not be recommending or be returning. We checked out a day early

The welcome atmosphere and hospitality, together with the incredible character of the property, made it special, and the food was also incredible.
The staff were very friendly and made the stay enjoyable, and the hearty breakfast had good quality ingredients. The location was quiet and peaceful, but a few maintenance issues popped up: the hot water tap in the bath needed fixing, the shower head wouldn't stay on the riser, and the bedroom view was shabby with old paint cans in sight and overall untidy.
