“Mejor en otro lugar”

Nothing in particular stood out. We had a room booked for August since April, yet when we arrived they had no record of the reservation despite prior messages. They handed us a lower‑category room (apparently no others were available) and I had to fight for a sad 5k peso discount. The room was dirty, had cobwebs, and an odd dust on the floor. They also wouldn’t let us pay by card even though a sign clearly said we could (though I blame this on the earthquake chaos).

The spot and the price were great, everything else was fine.

The staff were genuinely friendly and the rooms were decent, but as a traveler I found the location really bad and there was no kitchen.

The surrounding streets were dim and hectic, all of the rooms were down in the basement without windows and smelled bad, I only got a message at 5:40 PM saying “no double beds left, only singles, same price,” the soundproofing was awful—I could hear TVs, showers and footsteps everywhere, and the blankets were filthy.
