The staff greeted me with a warm, friendly welcome, and the balcony rooms had large, adequate bathrooms and living areas. The kitchen was more than sufficient for a hotel, and the central location meant I could swim on either side of the property in a lovely area. No complaints.

“Extremely disappointing experience — disrespectful treatment and poor value I paid €124 per night during high season, a”

I paid €124 a night in high season and this turned out to be one of the most disappointing stays I’ve had in Greece. The room itself was fine, but the real issue was how I was treated. Before I arrived I called for directions because I was having trouble finding the hotel. The man I spoke to was rude, impatient and disrespectful. I asked him to slow down because Greek isn’t my first language, but he only got angrier, saying “this is not Athens” and then swearing before hanging up, as if I couldn’t hear him. As a foreign guest trying to communicate, that made me feel extremely unwelcome and, frankly, discriminated against. There’s no excuse for speaking to a paying guest that way just because they’re struggling to understand directions in a language that isn’t their own. The hotel later apologized and sent me a bottle of wine, which I appreciated, but a bottle of wine doesn’t erase the way I was treated. No one followed up with me in any meaningful way to show that the seriousness of the situation was being addressed. The room was clean and the cleaning lady was genuinely kind and pleasant – she was the only person who made me feel welcome. The bed was very uncomfortable and felt cheap for the €124 nightly rate. The Wi‑Fi information given was incorrect, which caused another unnecessary inconvenience. I understand prices go up during peak summer, and I’m fine paying more when the experience justifies it.

The reception staff were friendly and parking was convenient right in front of the door. The hotel sits at the back of the village, but the village is very close. The building and the neighbourhood lack charm, and the price is high for the reduced comfort.

“Spacious accomodation infested by ants”

The accommodation was spacious, towels and sheets were clean, and the air‑conditioning worked well. However, it was infested with ants everywhere: kitchen counter, dining table, floor, even in bed (the host said it’s a natural environment). There was mould in the shower cabin, greasy kitchen appliances (oven and hood), a noisy fridge buzzing all day and night, and no kettle or coffee/tea facilities even though they were listed. The drying rack and a table leg were rusty, paint had fallen off on the balcony, and the sea view from the room was limited. The reception was closed most of the time; you had to message through booking. The building was bare with no greenery, only a few small plants at the back. There were only two taverns and a café nearby, but no bakery, (mini)market or shops – the nearest market and bakery were 15 minutes by car. No value for money.
