The old Japanese house had a charming atmosphere and was surprisingly clean. The owner was friendly and helpful, and he shared great local spots, which made me feel the love of Tanabe. I wasn’t unhappy overall, but the only wall between us and the neighboring room was a single sliding screen, so I wondered if the conversation would be too loud during sleep or when waking up.

The people were very kind and welcoming, and the breakfast was carefully prepared in the fridge. Unfortunately, like any old Japanese house, the insulation was poor.
