The cottage was beautiful, spacious, and had two outdoor areas. The bed was comfortable with soft sheets, and the bathroom was unique, featuring a spa tub and a huge window overlooking a private backyard with a waterfall. The full kitchen came with a bottle of champagne on ice when we arrived. The whole place is set in the woods a few blocks from Main Street, where you can shop, visit hot springs, and do wine tasting.

The premium king room was incredibly spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully stocked with many extras – various toiletries in the bathroom, snacks in the coffee bar area, extra towels, a mesh loofah for body wash, etc. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and having it delivered to our room at a time we chose felt like a luxury. The mini‑split worked well to cool the room, and there was also a ceiling fan. Even though the property is near a somewhat busy road, it was incredibly quiet and we didn’t notice any noise. Lynn and Gregg were wonderful, warm hosts. For those who care, the gym area is fairly basic, with just a few light weights, a treadmill, and maybe a spin bike, none of which looked used in a while. I would also love to see them eliminate all the mini water bottles provided (so much plastic); perhaps a Brita pitcher in the room would be better, but really no bottled water is necessary at all. It’s a bit too far to walk to Lincoln Ave., the main drag (over 30 min.), but that wasn’t an issue for us as there was plenty of parking in early July while we were there, though YMMV.

The location was perfect and the hosts were the most gracious. Breakfasts were amazing – think French toast soufflé, yogurt fruit parfaits, and homemade pastries. The bathroom was amazing with a fireplace and a view of a waterfall cascading down the hill. Our cottage also had a dining area, a full kitchen, recliners, and a four‑poster king bed. This is our new go‑to place in Napa Valley.

If I could give Foothill House 6 stars out of 5, I would. It made my Napa vacation 10× better. The breakfast was SUPERB, and the room was quiet and felt secluded. Just a perfect spot. We will definitely be back.

The Room was spacious , clean, and comfortable . The in-room Breakfast was outstanding and a great way to start the day. The location is close to the town of Calistoga and close to other towns and wineries. We will plan to stay here again on our next trip
