“Lodge looked great but nothing worked”
The lodge’s look beautiful inside and well presented, the location was good for where we needed to be. Unfortunately not much worked properly in the lodge we were in. The day before we were told our lodge was unavailable and we had been upgraded - on arrival it was clear this was actually a downgrade. Also note, the lodge was advertised as 3 bedrooms but it is not - it is two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the room. On arrival we had a few powercuts, which the staff sorted right away when calling. But later when trying to use the oven it threw sparks in our face and tripped out everything. Someone came and sorted the electrics again but we could not use the oven. They opened a lodge for us to cook in a short walk away but it was a smaller lodge and the oven had 1 shelf - there were 6 of us. We were told an electrician would come the next AM to look at the cooker at 7.30 but no one showed. We rung again and someone was sent who said they could smell gas so we would need to move lodge’s. I asked for them to provide us a free breakfast at the restaurant as we had no cooking facilities and they did which was nice. The new lodge wouldn’t be ready however until 11am due to having guests in and needing turning around, we had a wedding to be at at 12pm and realised in the morning our lodge had no hot water either! We got into the new lodge at 11.15am and got sorted and headed straight to the wedding. When getting back we realised the lodge had only been set up for 4 people not 6, so we had no bedding for the sofa bed. It was 1am so we just didn’t bother calling again. It may have just been a bad egg and the reception team did what they could but the lodge not having working facilities ruined the experience here. However our lodge change shouldn’t have been given as an upgrade when it wasn’t. We wouldn’t stay again due to the experience which is a shame because the lodges look nice and if they worked correctly, are good value for money
