Travels Inn Victoria County

“The location was good okay, the staff were okay, just looks like it is run down”

The room was decent, but it definitely needs a refresh and a bit more upkeep. The overall look left something to be desired, especially the decor and cleanliness.

“great value, nice views, comfortable place to lay your head”

The views were gorgeous and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfy, though the hotel was still in the middle of renovations. They were upfront about the work and the price matched the situation.

The motel is close to the Cabot Trail entrance and a few restaurants are within a 20‑40 minute drive. I was disappointed that there was no satellite TV or cable, so no movies or sports. Rooms lack microwaves, dark curtains in the bathroom, and a non‑slip mat in the shower. The porch steps need a safer platform to avoid trips.

The bed was good, and the room had AC, a fridge, and a TV. The manager was very kind. However, the place feels very old‑school and the upgrade attempts look half‑finished. No coffee maker in the lobby, the bathroom is dated with a weird shower valve, and the water smells like rotten eggs—probably a well issue. It might work for a quick overnight stop, but not for a longer stay.

The price was reasonable, and when hot water went out one night the owner fixed it in just 15 minutes. On the downside, there were crumbs in the bed, all the towels were stained, the floor felt sticky, and the bath curtain was pretty gross.
