Bahir Dar Backpackers

I had the chance to stay 23 days at Bahir Dar Backpackers. From day one the owners welcomed me warmly. The place is really nice, and the location is optimal, just a 5‑minute walk from the lake. It’s peaceful, with a small courtyard, and the rooms and other facilities are cleaned daily. Another plus is the kitchen, which was very handy, especially for longer stays. I highly recommend this spot for anyone wanting a familiar, home‑like stay in the heart of Bahir Dar.

“Ottimo soggiorno per backpackers!”

Peter was very welcoming and gave me plenty of tips; the value for money is good, and you can choose between a dorm or single rooms with shared bathrooms—if you’re looking for a hostel, this is the best option in town.

The place was spotless, the staff were friendly and open, and the kitchen is well equipped.

“Too backpacking”

The only good thing was the price; at that cost you can't really complain, but the host barely speaks English, the room equipment is poor, the shower is very uncomfortable and dirty (and there's only one for all rooms). They sell tours at inflated prices, so it's better to find other guides. There are no normal restaurants nearby. The host promised to meet me at the bus station, didn’t answer the phone, and was late.

Really nice hostel! It’s affordable, in a good location, and the hosts are awesome. I can totally recommend it!
