The room was generally tidy and clean. The breakfast in the morning was extensive and well taken care of. The communication and service for a late arrival were poor: we had clearly informed them beforehand that we would arrive around 21:00 on a Friday evening. Because we had chosen this hotel specifically for its praised kitchen and had asked if something could be provided to eat, we were offered only a simple charcuterie board upon arrival. A hot meal was absolutely not possible, even though there were other guests in the restaurant and the kitchen seemed operational. The staff’s attitude was unfriendly and inflexible: as an alternative nearby, we were only suggested to go to McDonald’s. When I mentioned that my husband does not eat pork, the host visibly irritated herself with the remark that he should just eat the cheese and me the meat. No effort was made to think of a solution or even offer an extra piece of bread. The price‑quality ratio was poor: the meager charcuterie board was later charged at full price without prior price communication. We could not eat it properly. The next morning, there was no word about the incident and no apologies. In conclusion, for a stay costing over €250 per night you expect an idyllic experience and a welcoming reception. The reality is that the kitchen apparently no longer offers full service after 19:00 and customer friendliness is far from there. If we had known this beforehand, we definitely would not have booked. We do not recommend this experience.
