I was surprised it had a kitchen and a good bathroom. The stairs were a problem, and the cutlery selection was poor.

The area was clean and quiet. The room offered amenities such as a hob, microwave, fridge, cutlery, and washing machine, almost like a studio suitable for a longer stay and worth the price. I didn’t need staff to check in; the keys were in a secure lock and check‑out was simple—just drop the keys back and lock. However, although everything felt aesthetic, the carpets were dirty in some spots, there was an overpowering cleaning‑solution smell, and the bathroom lacked soap or shower gel. A little more care would make it perfect.

“Nice Owner, Excellent Stay.”

The property is great, and the owner is excellent. He brought a new electric iron to the property on a single request and made sure I had free parking in Portsmouth. The only downside was a guy in the opposite room upstairs who was constantly smoking disgusting weed indoors. Other than that, my room was comfortable and great.

The car parking is along the street, and for three evenings I never found a spot on the road; only during the day could I park.
