“Soggiorno da film”

Abbazia di Vallingegno: a wonderful place, worth ten stars. My mother, I, and our dog came for a holiday. We wanted to relax and enjoy quality time with rest and slowness. The setting is marvelous, surrounded by green, valleys, and Umbrian hills. It’s a strategic spot to reach several villages. I loved the pool moments, with a typical Umbrian view. I’d say I had the honor of swimming with a movie‑like backdrop. The pool was always clean and I did great laps. The two‑room apartment we stayed in was very nice and spacious, with all the basics. The bed was comfortable, the sofa too. The décor is simple, essential, rustic, and elegant at the same time. Around the abbey grow lavender, figs, and blackberries – I personally love them. The managers are kind, available, and involve guests in various activities. Always ready to help. I would definitely return because I saw beautiful sunsets, a clear starry sky every evening, fresh air despite the scorching heat of that summer, and enjoyed the silence and slowness I needed. I took walks, read a whole book in one breath, and spent golden time with my mother. I recommend it! I imagine it would also be spectacular in autumn for the nature colors, and as someone who loves autumn, I almost can’t wait (if work allows). For me, everything was perfect.

“Hyvä paikka rauhoittua maailman melskeiltä”

A peaceful, lovely historic setting that makes you forget the rush and stress. Stunning views from the pool, which is a good size. A great spot to explore the beautiful Umbrian area by car, whether you’re following the trail of Saint Francis of Assisi or the Don Matteo TV series. Guido and Stefano were friendly and helpful!

“Es ist ein noch unentdecktes Juwel.”

A unique place between Assisi and Gubbio. Even fans of San Francesco will hardly know the spot, even though the saint is said to have stayed here for a while. The abbey sits on a site where, in pre‑Christian times, a temple for the god Genius was supposedly located. You can feel that this has been a special place for a long time, and hosts Guido and Stefano do everything to make the building complex a sign of ethical tourism. The internet works only poorly – best to forget about using Wi‑Fi and rely on all your senses.
