“The host made an error and tried to fix it - unconvincingly”

The host tried to fix an overbooking, yet we still felt ripped off. Dugi Otok is a paradise and Zaglav Bay is charming, which helped a lot. When we arrived, there was no room for us even though we had confirmation by email and text. The host, who only spoke Croatian, was impossible to reach. After a long wait he came by car, asked us to get in, and took us to an apartment in his house where his granddaughters had been staying (I think). He was kind to try to solve the problem, but the improvised room was dirty: the bathtub had hair, the toilet wasn’t flushed, we never got a key or the Wi‑Fi password, and he still charged us the full price.

The location was very good and the place was clean enough, but the accommodation was very basic for the price.

The balcony and corridors felt brand new, and I enjoyed the calm view of the port; the room was basic but had everything I needed. The Wi‑Fi was very slow.
