The design of the hotel is lovely—my room was well decorated and I liked all the little details, and the communal work area was great. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and a supermarket sits right across from the hotel. I got mixed up with the main Hoxton in central Amsterdam on the canals and didn’t realize this one is a bit further out (my own mistake). It’s still nice, but it’s more of an industrial area. Bikes are available, though a bit old. Breakfast was a bit overpriced, and the waitstaff weren’t very friendly: when I ordered coffee, they made it and left it on the counter without telling me to pick it up; when I realized, the coffee was cold and I had to ask them to remake it, and the barista was quite rude. The main reception and other staff, however, were very friendly.
