This is my third stay here and each time it’s a lovely break; the staff are welcoming and helpful, and the rooms—located above a charming pub—are clean and well presented with a large shower area. Breakfast is cooked to order, so there can be a wait, but that was fine for us. The daytime and evening menus were good. The location is excellent in a small village. Nothing to dislike.

This inn is handy if you arrive or depart by boat in Harwich, with a good breakfast and friendly staff. Parking spots are limited; if none are free, you have to park on the busy road.

The rooms were excellent—very clean and modern, which made me very happy. The restaurant could use a bit of modernisation, but the food was excellent and the service was very good and friendly.
