A Sea View B&B

Susan welcomed us with great friendliness, and although we couldn’t use the BBQ on our terrace, we could use Susan’s BBQ—super! The view of the Sounds is beautiful, and the décor is romantic. The stay is relatively close to the road, so you might hear some traffic noise.

“A room with a view”

The Sea View B&B lives up to its name, and the room with the small private veranda offers a wonderful view over Marlborough Sound. The caring host was very helpful and the breakfast provided was completely satisfactory. Just be aware that the B&B is a bit outside Picton and there are no restaurants nearby.

“Relaxation and Adventure in equal doses.”

The view is amazing, the hosts were accommodating yet gave us privacy, and the breakfast was delivered the night before, so we still had food when we had to leave early. We also borrowed the host’s double kayak, which was fantastic, and they gave solid recommendations for hikes and downtown activities.

“Nice location.”

We spent three nights in the Bay View apartment, a compact but efficiently arranged space. Every surface was spotless and everything seemed freshly maintained, with no hint of neglected upkeep. We arrived late at night after a ferry delay, so it was a relief to be greeted by Susan. She even surprised me with a small cake for my 70th birthday, a thoughtful touch prompted by our daughter.

“Beauté et gentillesse”

The view was breathtaking, and the hosts were kind and gave great advice. Our stay felt too short; it would be worth staying longer 😄
