The location is amazing, the room comfortable, the bed cozy, the shower huge, and the lighting in the rooms—those white lights—are awful and annoying. I arrived very early in the morning; they kindly kept my luggage. When I returned around 3 pm, they handed me the keys and the very friendly guy helped me with my bags into the room. To my surprise, the room hadn’t been cleaned: the beds were unmade, trash everywhere, the bathroom was dirty, and it was clear that previous guests had used it. I told the guy right away, and he was surprised and called the cleaning lady. I was asked to wait for the cleaning; after more than an hour and a half, they returned the keys. I appreciate the quick fix, but it’s unacceptable that I was told to come back at 3 pm and the room wasn’t ready—or more precisely, that you never checked it! For the price I paid, which isn’t cheap, such a thing shouldn’t happen; I had to wait from 4 am after taking the train from Bukhara to Samarkand and then wait hours before a shower.

The view of the Bibi Hanim Mosque was gorgeous, and walking to the main sights was a breeze; the location is truly outstanding. From the breakfast restaurant’s window, the mosque was visible, and the breakfast itself was delicious. The staff had issues: we were told in advance that credit cards would work, but at check‑in we were told only cash was accepted. A friend who checked in three hours earlier called and said credit cards were accepted, and when I relayed that to the front desk, they confirmed it. Late at night, the phone rang repeatedly every few hours, and when I went to the front desk, it turned out to be an alarm, not a call. It seemed the staff were asleep and used the alarm to wake themselves, but no matter how loud it was, the person didn’t wake, and guests had to wake them.
