The Ocean Phangan Homestay

The view from the bungalow is truly stunning! It’s simple and clean, and although the description says there’s no A/C, I think people who complain are mistaken. It’s a short walk from Haad Rin, and you avoid the late‑night music that can be heard if you stay right on the beach. We brought our motorbikes, which made it easy to reach the accommodation and explore other spots, though the road is steep, so be careful. I was worried it would be hot and mosquito‑infested, but the elevation gives it a breeze, so it’s not that hot inside and there are no mosquitoes. The staff are nice too! If you’re after something fancy, you’ll be disappointed, but if you want an affordable, simple, clean place near a lively beach, this is the spot.

The view was breathtaking, with a direct sunrise view from the bed and pure nature around; the bungalow itself was pretty cute. The owner’s attitude was a bit off—he answered my requests but after a while it felt like he was annoyed, not eager to chat or smile, and seemed more focused on business than hospitality. The mattress was uncomfortable, like a metal grill.

The bungalow offered an unreal view, and other spots near the reception were great too; the large rock by the ocean turned out to be the best place, and the hammock was a nice touch. There was no AC, but there were plenty of fans. Hot water was missing, though that wasn’t a huge problem because it was already so hot outside. The hills you have to walk up to reach the bungalows were quite large.

The location was pretty good, just a 15‑minute walk from Haad Rin Pier. The bungalow’s view was stunning, it was very quiet, and you had privacy because there were a few meters between each bungalow. The room was very basic, with one large bed and a private bathroom, but no refrigerator or A/C. The property needs some renovation work, as some bungalows are in bad condition. The road to the property is steep and you have to walk down uneven rocky stairs—this isn’t suitable for people with physical disabilities or knee/ankle problems.
