Mt Hutt Lodge, perched in Windwhistle, lies 3.3 km from Mount Hutt and offers ski‑to‑door access, a seasonal outdoor pool, and a ski school. Guests enjoy a restaurant and bar serving lunch, dinner, and snacks, plus free bicycle use and ski storage. This place is an absolute 10/10 stay; the view and location are breathtaking, the rooms are spacious, clean, and come with a fridge, microwave, and crockery. The real highlight was the warm, welcoming staff—Jo and Butch greeted us with a lovely open fire, cooked a delicious dinner, and then entertained us with Jo’s amazing singing and guitar and Butch’s harmonica; everyone at our table clapped spontaneously, making it a truly special evening and a rare treat.

The hospitality was great, and Butch and Jo are awesome; it’s a perfect spot to relax or to use Jo’s extensive local knowledge for exploring.
