The hotel’s location was amazing, right on the beach with beautiful wooden décor and excellent staff. The room was spotless with all amenities, towels, shampoo, coffee, water, and tea. When we arrived, they offered us a local drink. The first night had a power issue (common on the island), and the generator was fixed after two hours, which disappointed us a bit since we’d just had a tough trip and wanted to shower and eat. The pool was also not cleaned and unusable.

A very nice small hotel, beautifully located right on the beach in a quiet cove. The breakfast and restaurant are excellent. We had a very large room with three double beds, beautifully decorated.

We spent a fantastic time at Coral Bay! The hotel sits in a nearly private cove with stunning views and the beach is cleaned daily. The pool, shared with another unit, is very tidy. What won us over was being away from Nungwi’s mass tourism while the owner and staff went out of their way to cater to us. Lunch and dinner on site cost about 12$ per person, and at that affordable price you also get a quasi‑private restaurant with a chef and dedicated service in a luxurious setting. Thanks Leo, thanks Rama and thanks chef! Everything was perfect. The rooms are simple, as is the restaurant menu, but the service is five‑star.

We really liked Leo, the owner; you can ask him for anything and he will try everything possible to make you comfortable. Independent factors such as power outages were an issue.
