The setting is gorgeous and the food is good, breakfast is decent but nothing special. The room was damp, nothing dried, and no housekeeping service was provided during our four nights.

The garden and surroundings are stunning, and the bungalows are lovely, quiet, and spartan. We enjoyed the hot tub and a friendly cat that stayed with us. The pools are small but charming. The lodge is close to the beach and the famous waves, though the immediate area has few other attractions. The outdoor toilet and bathroom may not suit everyone, but this isn’t a luxury 5‑star property and isn’t trying to be. The internet only works in the restaurant. Bad weather made it less enjoyable because there is very little indoor space; with a lot of rain you’ll get very wet even just going to the bathroom.

I had an amazing stay in this unique accommodation, with a stunning view of the lagoon and breathtaking sunsets. The on-site restaurant was top‑class and we loved it. We also enjoyed a Tahitian cooking class. Thanks to the team for their smiles and kindness—Michel and Cécile were especially helpful.
