“A wonderful peaceful retreat”

The property looked breathtaking, offering a calm, riverside retreat with bungalows spaced for privacy, and our room was very comfortable; the owner, Jero, was a kind woman who ensured we had everything we needed, and I really enjoyed chatting with her. The only downside was that the site sits about 20 minutes from Sidemen’s centre, a fact I didn’t anticipate when booking, and crossing the river takes longer than 5 minutes, so without a scooter or personal transport the location isn’t ideal, especially since Gojek and Grab don’t operate in Sidemen.

Très beau logement, très belle propriété. Literie de qualité, salle de bain extérieure au top, excellent petit-déjeuner. Le personnel est aux petits soins. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir. Possibilité de louer des scooters directement sur place, ce qui est très pratique

“Just perfect”

My family of five stayed at The River for two days; having lived in Sidemen before, I had high expectations and everything met them. The meticulous attention to detail in the accommodation and the personal care from Jero made us feel genuinely welcomed and well looked after. We’re grateful for the experience and will definitely return.

“Un petit paradis proche de la rivière”

The individual cottages were charming, beautifully decorated, and unique; all comforts were present and the staff welcoming. The massage service was outstanding—my best experience during a three‑week Bali stay. The setting, nature, garden, and proximity to the river were gorgeous, creating a true little paradise, and breakfast was flawless. The only small issue was the slightly cloudy pool, which made me hesitant to swim.
