The room was large, the shower hot and the place was so quiet that it felt silent; it’s a short walk to town. Breakfast was served just around the corner at a spot I think was called ‘One Tea.’ The hotel staff were very communicative; when a power cut happened I texted them and they responded quickly to reassure me everything was fine. There isn’t a staffed reception, so you check in, get your room ready, and leave the key inside when you go. A friendly staff member came by to collect my passport details, which is standard at Thai hotels, but otherwise there was little contact. The hotel sits in the suburbs, yet it’s quick to reach the city. Great value and a kitchenette lets you whip up quick meals.

The traditional Thai architecture felt roomy and the facilities were plenty. Online service was friendly. There was no secure iron gate separating us from the neighbors.

Everything worked well, from the check‑in to other communications. The room was very large and spotless. The bed was a bit firm, but we slept well.

The bed was very comfortable and large, and there was a big fridge plus nearby shops. Finding the location was easy, and taking possession of the room was simple. The room’s size was interesting. However, it was really dirty; I hesitated to leave but should have. I realized I would have enjoyed my stay in Chiang Rai better in a room where I felt comfortable. Ants were everywhere, a caterpillar on the ceiling, a reptile in the room, and a pigeon constantly perched beside the toilet’s mosquito net. There were plenty of spider webs. We never saw the host of the stay.
