The White Horse Inn Bunkhouse

The staff were genuinely friendly and everything stayed spotless, but the Wi‑Fi in my room was spotty and only worked in the kitchen.

“Awsome, I would definitely stay again!”

The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the bunkhouse itself was decent for the price—basic but warm, clean, and surprisingly cosy. The spot was perfect for hiking Blencathra since the trail starts right behind the pub. I’m not sure if the gravel car park on the side belongs to the White Horse, but it needs some TLC; there are huge potholes and a low vehicle like mine could easily get damaged if you’re not careful.

“Perfect location for a glorious view of Blencathra and Helvelyn”

The location is great, especially for a one‑night stop and hiking Blencathra because it sits right at the mountain’s base. Staff weren’t available until 11 am and again in the evening, and there were a few spiders in the room 😆 A little more cleaning would make it amazing.

“Affordable bunkhouse accommodation in the Lake District”

The bunkhouse accommodation in the Lakes is affordable, but the bunks are quite low, so you can’t sit up.

“10/10 Experience would visit again”

Perfect location with plenty of parking, friendly staff and lovely food served at the pub. Nothing it was absolutely perfect
