The hotel’s location is very convenient. Neuwied’s city centre is easily reachable on foot, and you can quickly leave the town by car. Next to the hotel is a large supermarket, and the concept with the different food brands is original and a bit different. Our room was decorated in the Ostmann style, and it was fun to see the theme run through the whole room. The room was very spacious and clean, as was the really large bathroom. We found the many hooks and hanging options especially practical. Breakfast overall was fine, and the staff always refilled missing items immediately when we mentioned them. Our room was directly on a busy street, so it was quite loud with the window open. Because the room heated up, we needed the air‑conditioner, and at night we had to choose between quiet and cooling. We found the large picture of a drowning woman in the shower a bit odd. It didn’t really bother us, but in such a consistently themed room something more fitting from Ostmann would have matched the concept better and perhaps been funnier. Breakfast was okay, but in our opinion it wasn’t as extraordinary as advertised as the “best breakfast in town.” Items were often missing or containers were empty, and although they were refilled immediately when asked, this happened quite often during our stay. We also found the area right in front of the hotel entrance not very inviting; it doesn’t feel very cozy and you often have to walk past smoking guests to get into the hotel. A nice idea were the various unusual vending machines on the ground floor, including a wine machine. Unfortunately, this was not refilled during our three days, so we couldn’t try it.
