Nice spot, but that’s about it. Towels and sheets weren’t clean. The room feels sinister. No staff.

“Lonely but nice stay overall.”

I stayed during the low season and was the only guest besides the owners and their kids, which made the experience a bit special. I booked a bed in a 6‑person dorm, so the unexpected closeness was nice. I liked the green exterior and the hammocks. The hostel sits a bit farther from the busy streets, giving a calm vibe. The owner was friendly and helped with a few things, though he wasn’t always around. The price is cheap, the basics are there, and it’s ideal for a backpacker with simple needs. The hostel’s page on Booking said there was no wifi, but the owner shared it with me right away. The low‑season drawbacks showed up during my stay. I chose this place partly because breakfast was listed as included on the Booking page, but that didn’t happen—probably because I was the only guest. I don’t think that’s a good excuse, so I was disappointed. There’s a cute bar in the front yard, but it stayed closed the whole time, so I could only guess what it looks like in high season. I also realized that the dorm would be cramped if fully occupied: the space is tiny, there are only one or two plugs, and getting to the shower/bathroom is really narrow, risking bumping into a bed. Despite the loneliness becoming overwhelming, I was glad to have a room to myself.

I liked the location, very affordable prices and a good vibe.

The staff were very nice and you could have your laundry done for 190 cordobas, even a full backpack.
