“A wonderfully peaceful countryside escape”
We spent two nights at Stable Cottage and absolutely adored how peaceful it was. Surrounded by countryside, it felt like a proper escape from everyday life. The cottage itself was really cosy and comfortable, with two king‑size beds. It was incredibly quiet at night, so we all slept really well. The living room was perfect for relaxing after a day out, and the kitchen was well equipped. We also appreciated the breakfast provisions left for us, including cereals, yoghurt, fruit, tea and coffee. The location was brilliant too; we could walk into the village in less than 10 minutes, so we didn’t need to get back in the car in the evenings. We had pizza and pints at The Bell on Broadway one night and excellent pub food at the 5 Dials the next. It was also perfect for our dog, Ivan. Pets stay free, and there was plenty of space for him to enjoy the surroundings, which made it a really easy dog‑friendly break. There’s lots to explore nearby, from National Trust properties and beautiful Somerset villages to antique shops and charity shops, but we loved knowing that after a day out we could come back to such a peaceful and comfortable cottage. We’d definitely stay at Stable Cottage again – a lovely spot for a quiet countryside escape. We didn’t find anything we disliked about our stay.
The accommodation was typical.
Very nice, clean and quiet; would definitely stay again.
They offer a lovely selection of food for breakfast and also accommodated my lactose and gluten intolerance. Good communicators. The duvets were too hot, which was a bit of a downside for winter.
“Gute Wahl”
The host was absolutely friendly and had refreshing humour.
