I paid a low price and the location was fairly convenient, but when I entered my room I was shocked to find nothing there—no water, no tea, nothing. The lobby had those items, so at least a basic welcome drink would have been nice. The slippers were old and felt unhygienic; I couldn't wear them barefoot.

The staff were truly wonderful. When I checked in, a heavy downpour had soaked my suitcase, and they carefully wiped it off at the entrance, even cleaning the caster wheels. My room was clean, functional, and the toilet was brand new. The large public bath felt like a local hot spring, which was a real treat. Although the plan didn’t include breakfast or dinner, nearby convenience stores and izakayas were plenty, so I enjoyed my solo trip. I would stay again. I only wish the first‑floor lounge had let me know about the pot and microwave; a warm meal in the morning would have made it even better.

“ゆっくりできました。”

The hot spring was open until 9 am the next day, and the station at Echigo-Yuzawa was close enough that shopping was easy. The only downside was the lack of Wi‑Fi and a coin‑laundry machine.

The innkeeper, an elderly woman, was friendly and kind, making the stay pleasant. As a senior, I found it inconvenient to go out at night, so having meals included would have been even better. No other issues.
