The location was excellent in the old city. The room had a sloping roof that limited the space you could walk in. Getting out of bed required caution. The lane below started activity at 6 am with people rolling their bags and food deliveries. At night the noise from the kitchen below was excessive.

The location is great. However, the hotel has no front office; we had to walk a block to a random hotel for check‑in/out. For the price we paid—roughly $1,000 for two nights—we felt ripped off. Heavy machinery noise hit us at 5–6 am. There was no complimentary bottled water, no AC, and one of the two fans was broken. The furniture was old, dirty, and dated (red velvet).

It’s not too far from the bridge. No views except the building next to us that was 10 ft outside our window, even though they knew it was our honeymoon. All other five hotels we stayed at in Switzerland congratulated us, but this one did not. The room decor was very, very gaudy.

Walking around the old town was a breeze, but the room’s angled beams made moving around a headache‑inducing task that left me with several bumps; we asked for a room change, only to be told it wasn’t possible.

The location is great, the chalet‑style room is spacious and clean, the bed is comfortable, a minibar is available, and there’s a small elevator; the room itself is relatively quiet, though the building is quite noisy overall. The room lacks air‑conditioning, which you should keep in mind if you book in summer. Even with curtains, a fan, and moderate outside temperatures, it was very warm. The pillows were extremely soft or sagging, and a shower wall instead of a shared shower curtain would be preferable.
