The Aktiv Hotel Schweiger, a family-run hotel, is nestled on the edge of a forest, minutes from Füssen's Old Town. Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles are 10 minutes away by car. The hotel offers free WiFi, country-style rooms with modern bathrooms and balconies, an Allgäu-style breakfast buffet, sauna, and free parking in its garage and outdoor car park, near the A7 motorway.

The breakfast was great, the staff were very nice, and the recommendations for sights, hikes, and food were excellent. The wilted flowers on the breakfast table were disappointing.

The hotel staff were adorable, the underground parking is a huge plus and easily accessible, the setting of the hotel has a lot of charm, the breakfast was delicious, and the room was very spacious. For the €160‑night I expected a more welcoming bathroom; the shower curtain even made the floor look a bit like a hospital room.
