We stayed in a room with an incredible view of the Bukit Lawang valley, and the staff guided us perfectly throughout our trip, serving plenty of tasty meals. Expect a rugged, natural shower and a bit of a workout, but that’s part of the adventure. We loved it. Remember to bring phone batteries—once up there, with no electricity, the only company you’ll have at dawn will be the monkeys. 🙈

We spent four nights at the lodge perched on a hill in the jungle, and the view was breathtaking once you earned it. Our two kids, five and seven, were thrilled. Amin stayed with us the whole time, his friendliness and jungle knowledge enhanced the stay. The rest of the crew—Udin, Rifan, and Wagy—were also very welcoming, and we enjoyed a fantastic trek, rafting, river swimming, and a TukTuk exploration of the surroundings. The location, the vistas, and the on‑site team make it a must‑visit.

“What an amazing experience!”

It was an amazing experience: watching the day, sunset, and sunrise in the jungle with a great view, plus a full lighting show during the afternoon thunderstorm; the kids loved it, so we recommend it 100%. Food and service were great, but one mosquito net was too small for a double bed and already had many holes (probably from the monkeys).

“Experiencia inolvidable”

The experience was unforgettable once you understand you’re staying in an off‑grid cabin with a shower that runs on pure eco‑water; knowing that, the stay becomes unbeatable with breathtaking views, total silence except for nature’s sounds, and a perfect spot to unwind. We loved everything, especially the few insects (even though I’m usually itchy), the comfortable sleep on the mattress under the mosquito net, the ideal temperature—sunny in late August during the day and a refreshing rain after 4 pm that made the night feel like a dream—and the realization that you need very little to be happy. I can’t forget the lodge team—Uddin, Amín, Balu and the others—who made us feel at home, gave us total freedom and helped us plan everything to suit our needs, always extremely attentive. Our guide, though he claimed his English was poor, communicated flawlessly, respected wildlife, never fed the animals and kept us at a safe distance so neither tourists nor creatures were stressed; if you’re after sustainable tourism this is the place. Our trip’s goal was to blend into Indonesian culture, see its nature and people with deep respect; we didn’t come just for orangutans but still spotted four orangutans, a Tommas monkey, black‑and‑white gibbon, macaques, turkeys, turtles, squirrels, toucans… we felt truly lucky. In short, thank you for your amazing work—you’re fantastic!

“Aventure unique au cœur de la jungle”

The location is amazing, right in the heart of the jungle, and the trekking experience is unique with extra guides. Meals at the lodge and in the jungle are delicious—a real adventure for those who love roots, a true disconnection, pure joy! A few things we wished we’d known beforehand but didn’t bother us at all: no electricity, so bring power banks; no Wi‑Fi; no proper shower, but you can wash with river water delivered by hose into a big tank in a private cabin; a 30‑40 minute walk from the village to the lodge—pack a small bag for a few days so you don’t have to lug your whole suitcase up the trail!
