“Could be a lovely hotel but it’s not been maintained. Cleaners need sacking”

The stone hotel was lovely and in a nice spot, but we stayed in a garden cottage where cobwebs hung above the bed on the side of the unit, the skirting boards hadn’t been cleaned in a while, the floor hadn’t been vacuumed or mopped, and the decking outside was rotten and unmaintained though it could be nice. Breakfast was good but there weren’t enough staff, and they didn’t check what was running low, so we always had to ask for items that weren’t there.

“A peaceful stunning location with delicious food”

This place is absolutely beautiful, a hidden gem right on my doorstep. I booked last minute with my daughter and wasn’t disappointed. The staff were lovely, the rooms beautiful, and the breakfast excellent—a real treat; we will be back!

The location was great, the cottage fantastic, the food excellent, and the staff at the bar and restaurant were very good. The cleaners were not the best during our visit.

“A pleasant late summer short break”

The accommodation was comfy, especially the spacious bathroom. The restaurant was great both at night and for breakfast, and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was advertised as having a sitting area, but it only had a small chaise longue and a bucket chair at the dressing table. Walking out of the hotel to the restaurant is fine when the weather is nice, but it’s less ideal if it rains, though umbrellas were available. A few lights in the room didn’t work and a loose carpet on the step to the bathroom should have been fixed before we arrived.
