Arriving for check‑in the house was closed and no one was there to receive us; after several attempts I managed to speak with the owner who was traveling. After waiting for a while she finally managed to check us in. In summary, the price we paid would have let us stay comfortably in a 4‑star hotel with breakfast included and service that matched cost‑benefit. We had knowledge of this during many days traveling Portugal and Spain.

“Cancelamos a reserva pela falta de empatia e mal atendimento”

The lack of empathy in the service was huge. I booked this inn for my wife and me, knowing the check‑in was at 4 pm. We arrived around 1 pm just to wait, without asking for early entry. My wife only needed to use the bathroom, a basic thing, yet the owner coldly said she wouldn’t allow it before check‑in. The inn is in a small village with no nearby places to use another bathroom, so her attitude was totally lacking empathy and left a terrible first impression. Hospitality isn’t just about rules; it’s about handling simple situations sensibly, which didn’t happen here. Because of this, we didn’t feel comfortable returning and cancelled our reservation, even without a refund.

Everything was super clean and tidy, but the only gripe was that the room we stayed in didn't have a bathroom door; my husband and I had to leave the room every time we needed to use it.
