“Excellent home stay, next to Vardzia, with fantastic hosts”

This was the best place we stayed during a two‑week holiday in Georgia. The host was fantastic, the food superb—everything came from local farms. Bring cash for food payments and be very hungry! (Also you need a 4×4 to drive there, but if you don’t have one the host will come pick you up.) Nothing to complain about!

After two months in Georgia, these beds were the most comfortable on our whole trip; we didn’t want to leave.

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and the location was quiet. The food was fresh and tasty, but driving there was a bit of an off‑road challenge.

The host and hostess were incredibly friendly. Our host picked us up and brought us back. The food was delicious—everything was homemade, cultivated, and caught. The location is beautiful.

“On the road”

They make you feel like family, as if a relative had come from afar; the spot is close to the Vardzia site, and the room is a bit shabby, requiring a skilled off‑road driver to reach it, yet that fades when you sit down for dinner. No English is spoken; communication happens through looks, laughter, and toasts. The love for their homeland and Georgian hospitality is palpable, and the kitchen is sublime—no restaurant has outshone the dinner of Bondi and his wife (a true queen). We spent one of the most beautiful evenings of our lives there. The only downside was wishing we had more time.
