“It’s a busy little town so expect crowds.”

Disappointing: I was first in line for breakfast and was served cold French Toast, cold rubbery egg, cold bacon. Breakfast was poor, and the parking description was vague—it’s not on the property but on a side street; I was lucky to get a spot across from the hotel, still on the side street.

“Enjoyable stay in this historic hotel.”

The name of this hotel describes it accurately; it’s a fascinating small hotel with an interesting past. We had a very comfortable room with a view of the main street, and there was some street‑cleaning noise in the morning but it didn’t bother us. This was one of the few hotels on our trip where we had breakfast, and it was very good. We especially liked the outside area where there was a vegetable garden. Nothing. A lovely stay.

“Enttäuschend”

The hotel is very well located in Downtown, right in the middle of the action. The entire hotel looks like it dates from 1870, has no elevator, and every room is different. Our room (Birdie) was very small with a Queen bed that feels like a rolled‑up blanket in the middle. The attached toilet with a washbasin was tiny. Our bathroom was a shared one and super clean, so we had bathrobes in the room. There are also rooms where the toilet and shower are integrated. Breakfast was at the hotel’s own restaurant and good, but not very lavish. The room windows are more than historic and totally drafty. For the price paid, I expected something else! The spot of the hotel was spot-on, the room fit the bill perfectly, the bathroom was spotless, the décor had a fun vibe, breakfast hit the mark, and the staff were all professional. The only downside was the exchange rate, which made it pricey for me as a Canadian, but otherwise I'd gladly return.
