“Extremely Unprofessional Host – Disappointing and Unpleasant Experience”
The vibe is good. My interaction with the host, Rajeewa, was extremely disappointing and ranks among the worst I've experienced in my long travel career. After booking online, Rajeewa messaged me on WhatsApp. I had several questions about my stay and the facilities, but he didn’t reply until after I checked in. When I arrived, he asked if I’d arranged a jungle safari. I told him that, since he hadn’t answered my WhatsApp messages, I’d already booked it online. He then asked how much I’d paid and claimed he could offer a lower price. I politely told him my safari was already booked. I also asked about dinner; he said no staff were available that night and might arrange it the next evening, so I went out. When I returned, I met him at the reception, where he also lived. In our brief chat, I made it clear I’d have dinner at his property the following night. He then inquired about my breakfast and lunch, and I explained both were already included in my safari arrangements. My safari was scheduled to start at 6:00 AM the next morning. About 20 minutes before departure, Rajeewa approached me and said my safari vehicle had arrived. I was shocked because I’d already arranged and paid for my safari independently. When my own booked safari driver arrived around 10 minutes before 6:00 AM, I discovered Rajeewa had also independently booked another safari for me without my confirmation or consent. I asked him why he did this. He replied that because he had offered a competitive rate, he assumed I’d cancelled my original booking. I clearly explained I had never confirmed his safari booking, nor told him I wanted him to arrange one.
