“It was functional and boring”

Because the whole hotel was being renovated (which I didn’t realise), there were no facilities, staff, or anything else—just a room that worked fine for our trip but didn’t feel like a hotel.

The location was good, but the hair dryer didn’t really work, a curtain rail was hanging out of the wall, and the shower needed some getting used to.

The location is brilliant—the train station is only a short walk away and the shuttle bus to Green Man is convenient for both work and festival visits, offering a home‑like comfort. The hotel was closed for renovation, but the building we stayed in had a small fridge and Waitrose was a short drive away.

“Lovely stylish rooms”

The room was huge and the bathroom looked modern and well thought out. Getting the keys was a breeze thanks to the safelock and there was plenty of parking nearby. The pub was under renovation, so we couldn't use that spot, and when I sent a message to the staff I never received a reply.
