The pool and spa were perfect for our boys to recover after the touch tournament, and everything we needed was available; I highly recommend this place for big families.

“No aircon despite what the listing on booking.com says.”

The house was a good family home with plenty of space, but the listing claimed air conditioning in three places, which turned out to be false, so we spent several uncomfortable nights in the hot weather. The owner blamed me for the misinformation, even though the description—presumably written by the owner or their agent—did mention air conditioning. If we’d known there was no AC, we wouldn’t have booked during New Zealand’s summer. We were also surprised to learn just before arrival that the owner had a separate unit rented by another tenant, accessed through the garage, which made the stay less private than expected. One room had a stream of ants on the desk, and there was a shopping trolley in the front garden. Overall, the house didn’t feel well cared for, especially since it’s on the market, and we’re still disputing the air‑conditioning claim with the owner.

The place had lovely character and a great swimming pool, but the beds and bathrooms were tired.
