It was clean, except there were spider webs inside the roof ridge. The bed linen was clean, the shower and washbasin were clean. There was no breakfast option in the cabin, even though it was mentioned in the booking! Only a small microwave was available. No glasses, cutlery… Not suitable for guests with mobility issues, fear of heights, or claustrophobia.

We had a great night at Cabanes du Chêne Rouvre in Saint‑Dié‑des‑Vosges—perfect for kids, very quiet and relaxing. Jean‑Luc, the owner, was very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent, especially the croissants and fresh baguette. We also loved being able to use the pool and the fridge with a freezer compartment, which let us keep our ice‑cream for the next day. On the comfort side, it’s not a luxury hotel and the space can feel a bit tight, but that’s exactly what you expect from this kind of quirky accommodation with its charm and originality.

The cabin’s style was cool, but a small tabletop fridge would have been a nice addition.

The cabin was good and the welcome was nice, but the neighbors on the side were extremely noisy until 22:45–23:00, and a party in the nearby commune kept going until 00:30–01:00; the neighbors on that side even took the terrace furniture, so we didn’t try to enjoy the space amid the noise and lack of civility—we left early. The mattress was quite firm, which made my back sore.
