The pillows were excellent.
Breakfast was superb—A+++++. No complaints at all.
We enjoyed a pleasant stay at Hotel Acta Madfor. The spot was key because I had to catch the train from Principe Pio to head to a conference in Somosaguas, while my family could enjoy Rio and the city centre’s proximity. The room was comfortable, breakfast was plentiful and tasty (we only tried it once because it wasn’t included). The staff were very friendly. Getting to and from the building was also easy, which is the opposite of the Mall and the Railway station, and there were great restaurants along the avenue. I travelled with my two‑year‑old daughter and we used the “big bed” as we usually sleep that way. The problem was that the two beds could separate so easily that a little movement could send you halfway to the floor, which isn’t funny with a toddler. I didn’t complain and we managed to survive any incident, but the hotel should consider attaching the beds more securely when needed. That’s the only thing I would mention. Thank you anyway!
The room was very clean; the staff came every morning to change towels and swapped sheets every two days. The room was good, though I think it could use an extra chair, which is just a minor detail. The location is decent, close to the royal palaces, and the neighborhood felt safe. However, it’s a 20‑minute walk from the city center, which feels far for a large city, and the distance can’t be walked more than two to three times a day. The well‑known museums lie on the opposite side of town, so we ended up walking more than expected. The price is excessive for the room; it’s good, but five nights for 800+ euros isn’t worth it.
Noise of people close to my room talking loudly in the hall
