This was my first experience with a Japanese onsen, and it was absolutely wonderful. The water was so relaxing, and it was a great way to unwind after a long day of exploring. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to try out a traditional Japanese hot spring.
“This was our first time in Hakone for a driving tour and to see the changing leaves. We had a hard time leaving the room”
This place is a hidden gem, tucked away in a stunning location that's perfect for exploring the local area and visiting nearby attractions. The inn itself is a work of art, with beautiful wood beams and lovely artwork adorning the walls. Our room was cozy and warm, with a traditional tea set and beers in the fridge - it felt like a home away from home. The onsen was the perfect place to unwind, and watching the sulphur vapor rise from between the mountains was a truly magical experience.
“観光は、良かった”
Unfortunately, our stay was ruined by an infestation of kamemushi - there were thousands of them crawling all over the room, and it was a real nuisance. It's a shame, because the location and views are lovely, but the bug problem made it impossible to enjoy our stay.
“遺憾の意、アカンのァ”
Unfortunately, this place was a disaster from start to finish. The room was filthy, with hair, blood, and urine stains all over the bedding - it was disgusting. And to make matters worse, the staff member I spoke to was completely unhelpful and even yelled at me when I complained. I was eventually forced to leave, and to add insult to injury, they still haven't paid me the 15,000 yen they promised as compensation. Needless to say, I would not recommend this place to anyone.
This traditional Japanese inn was a real treat, with a lovely onsen that was the perfect way to unwind. The hosts may not have spoken much English, but they went out of their way to help us out whenever we needed it. The place has a certain charm to it, but it's worth noting that it's a bit of a trek to get to. The peaceful surroundings made up for the distance, though.
